My opinion may be chaotic, but it's a collection of thoughts I wrote down while playing and tried to piece them together
This game is a cash grab based on Avatar brand. Simple, shallow forest walking simulator (because they count time spent playing, not sales) with completely chaotic, unintelligible, and in every respect tragically implemented features (e.g., unnecessary food, gathering, crafting, cooking, trivial hacking, poorly executed combat, and even worse, stealth interwoven with a simple story, a simple creator, and simple character development). They imitate every possible game genre. They probably don't know the saying that if something is good for everything, it's good for nothing. Oh no, sorry, I forgot whose game this is. Knowledge and skill are words that don't apply to them. I recommend saving ur money and taking a real walk in forest. u can only test it for free or if they pay u. 2/10 only for interesting Avatar world, which isn't game's contribution and it's fun to fly on ikran
DIRTY PLAYS
- At start, there's a screen that takes u to the shop to buy an add-on that's not included in the season pass included with the base game
- The first tutorial tip is to go to the shop and buy skins in the weekly rotation for real money. Of course, if u buy tokens, u'll have some left over, so u've to buy more, and so on
- The second time I entered the game, the shop was advertised three times through pop-ups before it allowed me to enter
- After 5 missions, I received 300 tokens just to entice me to go to the shop to see the skins and spend real money
GRAPHICS
+ Good graphics
SOUND
+ Okay game audio/voiceovers
GAMEPLAY
- The first half of the game is a tutorial
- Terrible character creation. Virtually imperceptible differences and a very limited selection of options
- The main character's irritating self-talk
- Lack of normal in-game dialogue, which doesn't break the rhythm. Every time u approach someone, a cutscene triggers. Even for 1 or 2 sentences
- a million pop-ups pop up every few seconds during the game
- it constantly signals that I haven't eaten. But what good is it when u only need to eat before a fight to regenerate health, and there were maybe 10 fights throughout the entire game? So why waste time searching for food?
+ enjoyable flying on an ikran
- poorly designed combat due to poor visibility and level cap
- of course, we finally meet they/them character. They had to tick off the requirements
STORY
- simple story, evil humans have kidnapped the natives and are destroying the planet, just because
- terribly stiff, artificial dialogue
WORLD DESIGN
+ avatar world
- terribly unclear locations, especially bases/villages
MISSION DESIGN
- A forest running simulator, 1/2 h of running, with a cutscene, 1 sentence, and another 1/2 h of running
- In the next location, after getting a horse, u've to ride it pointlessly for 10 minutes from point A to point B
- To avoid a level cap, u MUST do OPTIONAL side missions
- After two combat missions, interrupted by a party mission where u've to talk to NPCs, another 1-h of running through the forest to the camp
- u're in a room, u've searched everything, but u've to wait until the delayed self-talk starts, and only then, for example, an interactive element appears
- Another time, for example, the door only opened after I defeated two panthers, 0 logic
- One of the game's final missions tells u to hunt a deer. As if running wasn't enough, now u've to run blindly across the entire map looking for it
- Hunt game, have fun at a party, eat food, talk pointlessly to NPCs, hack or destroy a tank only a few times throughout the game, fighting enemies with poorly designed AI or a lack of enemies that logically should be there
INTERFACE
- To eat, u've to press 3 buttons, holding 2 of them simultaneously
- u've to exit each submenu with ESC instead of right-clicking
- A terribly unreadable interface for menus, missions, character development, equipment, crafting, etc.
- Every time u complete a main quest, u've to go back to the menu to select the next one
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
- I haven't upgraded any of the 12 ancestor skills, which u've to search for additionally on the map. None of them are on the way to complete the main quests, and they're still poorly designed and unnecessary
- Of the 5 skill trees, I only partially upgraded 2, which increase health and attack
The other 3 are animal hunting, crafting, and useless ikran upgrades. I neither hunted nor crafted because it's pointless, poorly designed, and unnecessary. And because I didn't do it, I was well below the required level in every mission
If the entire game was like final mission, it will be playable. It's not top-notch, but at least something happened. 25h story without side quests, 5 of which alt-tabbed becouse i need break, and of the remaining 20 hs, 19 were spent running around the forest
